What Is This Bursary About?

For more than 47 years, ASLA has offered design and construction services for fixed infrastructure.

The company offers design and construction services to its clients in a number of industries, such as pipeline construction, affordable housing, residential, road building, reservoir development, and water and wastewater treatment.

The corporation has operations in the provinces of the Western Cape (in Strand and George), Eastern Cape, and Northern Cape.

For the academic year 2023, ASLA is seeking students to apply for their bursary program.

Who Can Apply

The following fields of study will be eligible for bursaries:

  • Civil engineering
  • Building/construction management
  • Quantity Surveying

Before applying, candidates must meet the minimum entry requirements listed below (please note that if you do not meet all of the requirements, your application will not be considered):

  • You must be a resident of South Africa.
  • You must be enrolled full-time in one of the aforementioned fields of study and working toward an undergraduate degree.
  • In 2023, you must be beginning your final academic year.
  • You must be enrolled in a South African University or University of Technology that is reputable and accredited.
  • You need to have a good academic history.
  • You must be eager to work in the field of construction engineering.

What Does This Bursary Cover?

Candidates who have been shortlisted may be contacted and asked for additional documentation or to appear in an interview. Please consider your application unsuccessful if you don’t hear anything back.
