What Is This Bursary About?
ITHUBA Holdings is a privately held firm that has been operating as a National Lottery organization in South Africa since 2015.
The organization was created by Zamani Equity Fund with the goal of revitalizing the National Lottery.
ITHUBA strives to improve the socioeconomic position of the country with the support of the National Lottery’s efficient and ethical operation management, igniting a spirit among key strategic partners, shareholders, and personnel.

ITHUBA is now inviting students to apply for its bursary program for the upcoming year.
Who Can Apply
Bursaries will be awarded to students in the following fields:
Commerce
- Management Accounting & Finance
- Accounting
- Marketing
Information Technology
- Computer Engineering
- Information Systems
- Computer Science
- Software Development
- Communication Networks
Before applying, candidates must meet the minimum entry requirements listed below (please note that if you do not meet all of the requirements, your application will not be considered):
- The candidate must be a South African citizen between the ages of 17 and 23.
- The applicant must have passed the Matriculation examination.
- The candidate must be studying or planning to study one of the ITHUBA Holdings fields.
- The applicant must have a background in information technology or in commerce.
- The candidate must be enrolled in or intend to enroll in a degree program at a South African tertiary institution that is accredited and recognized.
- In their most recent examination result, the applying applicant must have a minimum overall score of 70% or 70% for each subject.
- Preference will be given to students from disadvantaged families or from households with a total annual income of less than R350 000.
- The individual must be committed to their studies and endeavor to maintain an exceptional academic record.
- The applicant’s values should be compatible with those of ITHUBA Holdings. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, dedicated, and enthusiastic about giving back to the community.
What Does This Bursary Cover?
The bursary will cover all of your living expenses, as well as your data allowance, laptop, lunch allowance, personal care allowance, study guides and books, and tuition costs.
Candidates for bursaries will receive ongoing emotional and psychological support.
To ensure optimal achievement, the candidate’s academic performance will be examined and tracked on a constant basis.
Other benefits of the bursary include tailored support programs, workplace preparation, and developmental workshops to mentor and coach.
Additional female orientation skills will also be given.

- Proof of acceptance into a South African higher institution on the institution’s letterhead
- Proof of privacy and residential accommodation, ideally on the letterhead of the institution
- Certified copy of parents’/guardians’ identification documents
- Proof of parental/guardian income (if employed, employment letter or latest payslips; if an informal trader or unemployed, affidavit; if receiving a grant, then certified copy of SASAA letter)
- A motivational letter outlining why you want to be considered for the bursary program.
