What is the bursary about?
The Feeder Bursary provides comprehensive support to help students complete their studies and gain industry exposure.
- Financial support: Covers tuition fees, accommodation, prescribed books and a monthly allowance.
- Work experience: Vacation work and practical exposure at Exxaro operations.
- Mentoring: Guidance and support from experienced professionals.
- Fields of study: Civil, industrial, electrical, mechanical and metallurgical/chemical engineering, geology, mining, mine surveying and data science.
Who can apply / eligibility criteria
To be considered for the Exxaro Feeder Bursary Programme, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Have strong academic results in Grade 11/12 or current university studies.
- Be accepted, or in the process of being accepted, into a relevant full-time degree programme at a recognised South African university.
- Be a current Grade 12 learner or undergraduate student planning to study in one of the supported disciplines.
- Demonstrate leadership potential, a passion for innovation and a commitment to completing the degree.

The application deadline is 30 November 2025. No late applications will be accepted.
