The programme opens in November 2025 and continues until 26 February 2026, offering full-time undergraduate students a pathway to develop both academic and practical capabilities.

Armscor (Armaments Corporation of South Africa) is the government-appointed procurement and technology agency for defence in South Africa. With a focus on innovation and security, Armscor supports the development of scientific and engineering talent, ensuring that students contribute to and benefit from the defence economy.
What Is This Bursary Programme?
The Armscor Bursary Programme covers:
- Tuition and registration fees
- Prescribed books and study materials
- Accommodation, meals and a living allowance (where applicable)
- Vacation-work opportunities in relevant departments
Eligible fields include: - Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics Engineering
- Electronics / Electrical Engineering
- Aeronautical Engineering
- Naval / Marine Engineering
- Computer Science / IT / Cybersecurity / Artificial Intelligence
- Human Kinetics & Ergonomics Sciences
- Physical Sciences & Astrophysics
- Biochemistry & Chemistry
Who Can Apply
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be applying for full-time undergraduate study at a recognised South African tertiary institution (University or University of Technology)
- Be entering or currently studying a qualification in one of the eligible fields listed above
- Have a strong academic record (in Matric or at tertiary level)
- Be interested in a career within the defence or related high-tech sectors
- Submit all required documentation and meet the internal selection criteria
