Cipla Bursary 2023-2024

Cipla is now accepting applications for its bursary program.

It’s a great opportunity for anyone who wants to take their education a step further but lacks the financial means to do so.

The program does have a set of criteria that applicants need to follow to be considered ideal candidates.

Closing Date

The Cipla Bursary application period will end on 19 October 2022.

Please make sure to submit your application and any other supporting materials by this date.

Your application won’t be taken into account by the bursary provider if you don’t do this.

What Is This Bursary About?

Cipla Medpro South Africa (Pty) Limited is one of South Africa’s leading pharmaceutical producers, producing world-class medications for the public and private sectors at accessible costs.

Cipla Medpro, which is owned by Cipla India, is a global pharmaceutical firm that has been using cutting-edge technology and innovation for the past 80 years to satisfy the everyday needs of all patients.

The Cipla Bursary Program (CBP) was launched in 2017 as a strategic talent initiative to find young talent for the Cipla Graduate Skills Program.

The Cipla bursary intends to give financing to students from different backgrounds for studies that fit the required qualifications for the Cipla Graduate Skills Program.

Cipla is now accepting applications for its bursary program for the 2023 academic year.

Bursaries are provided for one academic year at a time, and funding is renewable each year if students meet the following criteria:

  • Maintain an annual overall average of 70%.
  • Communicating with Cipla on any information that has a direct or indirect impact on the bursary arrangement.
  • Declaring any other sources of financing received and any other contractual obligations.
  • Each quarter, communicate any changes to: subject, field of study, postal address, physical address, contact information, mid-year, and final-year test results, studying status, and so on.
  • Taking part in vacation work.
  • Attending virtual workshops for continual improvement.
  • After graduation, I plan to apply to the CIPLA Graduate Program.

Successful candidates will be contacted no later than March 30, 2023; if you do not hear back by this date, please consider your application unsuccessful.

Who Can Apply

The following fields of study will be eligible for bursaries:

  • Computer Science and Information Science
  • Digital Marketing and Communications
  • Engineering
  • Economic Management Sciences (including Accounting, Business Studies, and Finance)
  • Graphic Design
  • Health Science
  • Human Sciences, Industrial Psychology, and Human Resources
  • Manufacturing (including Demand Planning, Logistics, Production, and Warehousing)
  • Natural Science
  • Pharmacy
  • Social Science
  • Supply Chain & Project Management

Before applying, candidates must meet the minimum entry requirements listed below (please note that if you do not meet all of the requirements, your application will not be considered):

  • You must be a citizen of South Africa.
  • You must be between the ages of 21 and 28.
  • You must have completed Matriculation.
  • You must be pursuing a degree in one of the fields listed above.
  • You must have finished your first year of studies.
  • You must be registered for your second, third, fourth, or subsequent year of study in 2023.
  • Honors and Masters students who have achieved a qualification in one of the disciplines indicated above and meet all of the other bursary criteria may be considered.
  • Ph.D. students may be considered on an individual basis.
  • You must have passed all prior academic year’s classes or modules.
  • You must be enrolled in a South African public tertiary institution that is recognized and approved.
  • A minimum overall average of 70% is required.
  • You must be able to maintain an overall average of at least 70% each year.
  • You must be willing to work on vacation throughout the holidays.
  • After graduation, you must be willing to apply to the Cipla Graduate Skills Program.
  • You must be extremely motivated.
  • You must be proficient in English (able to read, write and speak)
  • You must not be the recipient of any other bursary support.
  • You must belong to one of the BBBEE-defined groups.

What Does This Bursary Cover?

Bursary awardees will receive one laptop for the duration of their studies; the school will purchase the laptop on the student’s behalf, and the laptop will thereafter be owned by the student (all expenses such as maintenance, repairs, insurance, and software updates will be for the student’s own account).

Bursary awardees will also benefit from the following:

  • Access to ICAS – the employee wellness program, which offers a variety of free counseling and wellness services
  • Possibility of applying for the Cipla Graduate Skills Program
  • Feedback on psychometric testing
  • Work on vacation
  • Subject matter experts from Cipla (SME)
