Who Can Apply

For the forthcoming academic year, GIBB is giving bursaries to students pursuing a civil engineering degree (Masters, Honors, Undergraduate) concentrating in Civil Engineering, Roads, and Rails.

Before applying for the application, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements.

  • The candidate must be a South African national.
  • The application requires a high school diploma.
  • The applicant must be a full-time civil engineering student concentrating in Civil Engineering, Roads, and Rails.
  • The applicant should be in their second year of study for the upcoming academic year.
  • The candidate must be enrolled at a South African university that is recognized and approved.

What Does This Bursary Cover?

The bursary will cover the costs of prescribed housing, textbooks, tuition, and travel expenses, as applicable.

Shortlisted candidates will be able to participate in vacation work. They will also be allowed to complete their practical training.

Following graduation, the individual is required to work at any GIBB office in South Africa.

The bursary will be renewed each year based on the candidate’s academic performance. The average grade should be higher than 60%.
