What Is This Bursary About?

A municipal organization, Johannesburg Water SOC Ltd (JW), which is wholly owned by the City of Johannesburg (CoJ), was established in 2000 and started conducting business in 2001. The business was established with the intention of making quality water and sanitation services available to Johannesburg’s more than 5 million residents.

Every day, Johannesburg Water purchases and distributes 1.6 billion liters of treated water from Rand Water. JW has six wastewater treatment facilities, and ten network depots, and operates throughout six areas. The business has a turnover of approximately R8 billion and more than 2700 employees.

For the academic year 2023, Johannesburg Water is encouraging students to apply for their bursary program.

According to the company’s talent management policy, Johannesburg Water awards comprehensive bursaries to deserving students each year. The specific needs and skill requirements of the firm dictate the disciplines of study.

Academic merit and financial need will be the two key factors used to determine who receives the bursary. Any student may apply, regardless of race.

Bursary awardees will be expected to sign an employment contract with Johannesburg Water after graduation.

Candidates who have been shortlisted will be contacted within one month of the application deadline; if you have not heard anything by September 25th, 2022, consider your application to have been unsuccessful.
