What Is This Bursary Program?
The Old Mutual Actuarial Bursary supports students pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science. It is specifically designed to nurture high-performing students and help them grow into impactful professionals in the actuarial field.
The bursary covers full tuition and is offered for study at the following institutions:
- North-West University
- University of Cape Town
- Stellenbosch University
- University of Pretoria
- University of the Witwatersrand
- University of the Free State
- University of Johannesburg
- University of KwaZulu-Natal

Who Can Apply
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Achieve an A in Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) and Bs in all other matric subjects
- Intend to study Actuarial Science at one of the listed universities
Before applying, applicants must meet the following minimum entrance criteria (note: failure to meet all requirements may result in disqualification):
- Must have a strong academic track record in Mathematics and related subjects
- Must be passionate about pursuing a career in Actuarial Science
- Must be committed to completing the Old Mutual actuarial development programme after graduation
