Scatec Bursary 2022 – 2023

Engineering students are in luck! The Scatec company is now inviting students to apply for its Bursary program.

Closing Date

Applications for the Scatec Bursary program will be closing on 30 June 2022.

Please make sure that your application is submitted by then along with all requested support documents.

Failure to do so will result in your application not being accepted by the bursary provider.

What is The Scatec Bursary?

This bursary program caters to the field of engineering.

The Scatec company mainly deals with the production of clean energy by means of solar, wind, and hydroelectric methods.

To achieve this requires an extensive engineering department.

This bursary will cater to engineering students in branches of the field that cater specifically to the company’s operations.

Candidates will receive financial support for their studies to an extent. Please be aware that preference will be given to students from previously disadvantaged designated groups within South Africa.

Candidates have the benefit of gaining work and development opportunities along with psyche-social support from Scatec.

After their graduation, candidates may need to work back their time studying for Scatec depending on the discretion of the company.

Who Can Apply

This bursary program will cater to both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the following fields:

  • Electrical Engineering (BEng)
  • Electronic Engineering (BEng)
  • Mechanical Engineering (BEng)

Students applying for this bursary will also need to meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants need to be South African citizens.
  • Applicants must have completed matric or are currently in matric.
  • Applicants must be studying or intend to study full-time, towards one of the Undergraduate or Postgraduate degrees listed above, in 2023
  • Applicants must be studying or intend on studying at a University that is recognized or accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) (check if your university is accredited here)
  • Applicants need a minimum overall average of 70% if they are currently in Matric.
  • Applicants need a minimum overall average of 50% if you are currently studying in your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year.
  • Applicants must have completed an undergraduate qualification if entering postgraduate studies.

What Does This Bursary Cover?

This bursary will provide successful candidates with the following financial coverage:

  • Registration fees.
  • Tuition fees.
  • Accommodation.
  • Prescribed books.
  • Meals.
  • A laptop and calculator.

How To Apply

Applications for the Scatec Bursary are quite easy, all you will need to do is complete the online application form here.

You will also need to attach the following support documents to this form:

  • A certified copy of your ID.
  • Certified copies of your Grade 11 final results AND Matric’s most recent results, if you’re currently in Matric.
  • Certified copies of your Matric certificate AND full tertiary academic record, if you’re currently studying.
  • Proof of University registration or acceptance on institutions letterhead.
  • An updated CV in PDF or MS Word format.
