Standard Bank Group Bursary 2026

Applications for the 2026 Standard Bank Group Bursary open on 1 May 2025 and close on 30 September 2025. This bursary provides financial support for undergraduate and postgraduate South African students to help them achieve their academic and career ambitions.

The bursary aims to foster academic excellence and develop Africa’s future talent by providing comprehensive financial assistance, mentoring, and support to deserving students.

What Is This Bursary Program?

The Standard Bank Group Bursary covers full tuition costs, textbooks, accommodation, medical aid, living allowance, laptop, as well as mentoring and psychological support.

It supports full-time study for undergraduate years one through four, as well as postgraduate studies up to Master’s level.

Eligible fields of study include:

  • Actuarial Science
  • Analytics
  • Commerce
  • Computer and Data Science
  • Economics
  • Engineering
  • Finance
  • Information Technology
  • Investments
  • Mathematics
  • Statistics

To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Have achieved an average of 65% or higher in the latest examinations (mid-year/June)
  • Be registered for full-time undergraduate or postgraduate studies
  • Meet university admission requirements for postgraduate bursaries

Applicants who pass the initial screening will be invited to participate in a formal assessment process, which may include psychometric evaluations and interviews. Financial need will also be considered.
