Most people have heard of the Golden Bus Service. They’ve been around longer than we can remember.
Fortunately, being around for so long has given them the chance to provide applicants the opportunity to get involved in their bursary program.
The Golden Arrow Bus Services (GABS) has organized a bursary program for undergraduate students studying in fields that can benefit the transportation industry.
If this is something you are interested in, then we highly recommend you apply for it. Below is a guide on exactly what this bursary program is and what it expects from you during the application process.
Closing Date
The GABS Bursary will not be accepting applications after 31 March 2022.
Please ensure that your application form is completed and submitted, along with all requested support documents before this closing date.
Failure to do so will result in your application not being accepted by The Golden Arrow Bus Services company.
What is The Golden Arrow Bus Services Bursary?
The GABS Bursary program was established for the purpose of both helping students reach their academic goals, and enriching the transportation industry in the process.
The program will provide financial cover to successful candidates’ study expenses to help them earn their qualifications without the pressure of a financial burden.
The company has been operating in Cape Town for over a century and still continues to thrive, helping people get from A to B easily and efficiently.
Successful candidates will be required to work one year for every year they studied under this bursary program. They will also be shortlisted and contacted to be invited for an interview by the company.
Who Can Apply?
This bursary is open to students studying toward the following undergraduate qualifications:
- BSc Qualifications
- Transport Economics
- Information Technology
- Mechatronics Engineering
- LLB
- Mechanical Engineering
However, applicants who do fall within these parameters will need to meet the following requirements set by the Golden Arrow Bus Service company:
- Applicants must be South African citizens.
- Applicants must be studying or intend to study in a recognized tertiary institution based in the Western Cape.
What Does This Bursary Cover?
The GABS Bursary program will provide financial cover for a candidate’s tuition fees, accommodation, and an allowance will be given for prescribed books.
How To Apply
Applying for the GABS Bursary is quite a simple process. All you need to do is download and complete the application form here. Once you have this done make sure to include the following support documents:
- A certified copy of your ID.
- A certified copy of your most recent academic records.
- Proof of acceptance (1st-year students only).
- Proof of household income (3-month bank statement of parent or guardian).
- An updated CV.
Please note that if any of these documents are missing, your application will not be considered for selection by the GABS company.
