EY CA Stream Bursary 2026

The EY CA Stream Bursary supports matric learners and university students pursuing Chartered Accountancy studies. The programme helps students who demonstrate both academic merit and financial need, while offering a pathway to a career as a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)). Applications open 1 August 2025 and close 31 October 2025.

EY offers two types of bursaries:

  • Academic Merit with Financial Need Bursary – covers a combination of tuition, accommodation, books, and/or meals.
  • Academic Merit Bursary – covers a portion of tuition fees.

Recipients are required to enter into a training contract with EY for a minimum of three years, during which they complete their professional exams (IAC and APC) and qualify as Chartered Accountants (SA).

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Matric learners intending to pursue a CA degree OR university students (2nd year onward) currently enrolled in a CA-stream degree
  • Strong academic record with the ability to qualify as a Chartered Accountant
  • Demonstrate financial need (for the need-based bursary)
  • Not be a recipient of another bursary obligation

  • Certified Matric certificate & Grade 11 results
  • Grade 12 Term 1 & 2 results
  • Parents’ payslips or affidavit (proof of unemployment)

University Applicants:

  • CV
  • Certified ID
  • Certified Matric certificate
  • Full academic record including 2025 mid-year results
  • Parents’ payslips or affidavit (proof of unemployment)
  • Student’s 3-month bank statement
  • Applications open: 1 August 2025
  • Applications close: 31 October 2025
