The bursary includes a work-back obligation. Successful bursars may be required to work back for Capitec for every funded year, or refund the bursary value plus interest if the work-back terms are not met.

Eligibility

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be aged 28 or younger on 31 December 2026
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student in 2027
  • Must be registered as a first-, second- or third/final-year student, or be a 2026 Matric learner or gap-year learner after Matric in 2025
  • Must be studying a Bachelor’s degree or Honours-level qualification, NQF 7 or higher
  • N4/N5/N6, Higher Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Masters and Doctoral students do not qualify
  • TVET, community college, graduate/business school and distance-learning students do not qualify
  • Grade 12 applicants must have a Bachelor’s pass with a minimum average of 65%
  • Tertiary applicants must have an academic average of at least 65% for the latest full academic years
  • Must major or specialise in an approved quantitative field

  • Latest official tertiary academic transcript and full academic record for tertiary applicants
  • 2026 university fee statement and lease agreement where off-campus accommodation applies
  • Disability documentation where applicable
