Closing Date
The Boogertman and Partners Bursary application period will end on 28 October 2022.
Please make sure to submit your application and any other supporting materials by this date.
Your application won’t be taken into account by the bursary provider if you don’t do this.
What Is This Bursary About?
Boogertman and Partners, founded in 1982, is Africa’s largest architecture practice. The internationally acclaimed architectural, interior design, urban design, and graphic design agency has offices in key South African cities (Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Durban), as well as Kenya.
Working closely with urban designers, landscape architects, interior designers, architects, and technicians in a collaborative creative approach that tries to discover comprehensive answers to each specific brief, the company has completed projects throughout Africa and the Middle East.
Students are invited to apply for the Boogertman and Partners bursary program for the 2023 academic year.
The bursary program’s goal is to alleviate historical disparities in South Africa by giving previously underprivileged students the opportunity to further their studies.
The bursary is intended to assist students in realizing their potential for a career in architecture.
Who Can Apply
Bursaries will be awarded to outstanding students pursuing a degree in the following subjects:
- Architecture
- Interior Design
- Landscape Architecture
- Urban Design
Before applying, candidates must meet the minimum entry requirements listed below (please note that if you do not meet all of the requirements, your application will not be considered):
- You must be a citizen of South Africa.
- You must be in Matric or have recently completed Matric.
- You must be studying or intend to study full-time towards a qualification in one of the above-mentioned subjects.
- You must be studying or intend to study in a South African-recognized and approved higher institution.
What Does This Bursary Cover?
The bursary will cover university tuition.
Bursary awardees will be required to do an internship with the company following graduation; the duration of the internship program will be equal to the term of the bursary funds received.

Submit clear copies of the following supporting papers with your online application (submission of these documents are mandatory; if any elements are missing, your application may be disqualified):
- Identification document (certified copy)
- Grade 11 final results and Matric most recent results, if enrolled in Matric (certified copies)
- Acceptance letter from a tertiary institution (on institutions letterhead)
- Matric final results/certificate, if Matric is finished (certified copy)
- If you are presently studying, please provide your complete academic record/results (on institutions letterhead)
- Tertiary institution fees statement (copy)
- Your work portfolio in a nutshell (maximum 20MB)
- 2 references (1 must be from the Headmaster of your High School or from the Head of Department of your Tertiary Institution)
