Foodbev SETA Mandatory Grant 2022-2023

The Food and Beverage Manufacturing Sector Education and Training Authority (Foodbev SETA) Mandatory Grant is a financial aid program developed to assist qualified applicants during the 2021 academic year. This grant is aimed toward Food and Beverage Manufacturing Levy Companies (small, medium, and large). 

The Foodbev SETA is a public entity that was founded in the year 2000 for the main purpose of serving the Food and Beverage Manufacturing industry. They aim to increase the availability and accessibility of knowledge in their respective sector within rural areas.

This can establish skills development by providing opportunities for quality learning and career prospects. Hence the Foodbev SETA Mandatory Grant was developed in 2021.

Closing Date

Food and Beverage Manufacturing Levy Paying Companies are required to submit their applications before 30 April 2021. Please note that applications submitted after this date will not be considered for the Foodbev SETA Mandatory Grant. 

About the Foodbev Mandatory Grant

This grant provides financial aid by paying said grant (20%) to the successful applicant every quarter.

Who Can Apply?

The Foodbev Mandatory Grant applies to Skills Development Facilitators (SDF’s) from their respective Food and Beverage Manufacturing Levy Paying Companies. SDF’s will have to register themselves on the Foodbev SETA’s system and follow their specific guidelines.

How to Apply?

If you want to apply for this grant you will need to process your application through Foodbev SETA’s indicium system link provided here:

The applicant will also be required to submit the following documents:

  • An official letter stamped by the applicant’s bank to confirm the applicant’s banking details. (Must not be older than 3 months.)
  • Proof of training. In the form of an attendance report, online learner details, or a relevant institution certificate. 
  • Required signatures with authorization from the stakeholder support declaration.

Once the application has been completed you will then have to fill out the Annexure 2 form, which will be provided by Foodbev SETA. Once these relevant forms have been filled out and submitted there will be a waiting period of 90 days to accommodate for the evaluation process. The applicant will then receive the intended outcome from Foodbev SETA and if the evaluation process was deemed successful, the payment process will then take place shortly after.
