About the bursary
ISFAP is aimed at students who are academically capable but cannot afford tertiary study. It is often described as support for the missing middle: students who may fall outside NSFAS qualification but still require financial assistance.

Eligibility
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric.
- Must be accepted to study an approved qualification at an approved public tertiary institution in 2027.
- Must be starting first-year undergraduate studies in the 2027 academic year.
- Must have a family household income of not more than R600 000 per annum.
- Must be in financial need and require funding for studies.
Documents to prepare
- Certified ID document
- Grade 11 final results and latest Matric results if currently in Matric
- Matric certificate or final results if Matric has been completed
- Completed ISFAP funding application consent form
- Proof of household income, grants, pension or affidavit if unemployed
- ID documents for parents, guardians and all household contributors
- Documents certified within the required recent period

- Register an account or log in if already registered.
- Complete the funding application form carefully.
- Upload all required income, ID and academic documents.
- Submit before the 31 October 2026 deadline for 2027 consideration.
