What Is This Bursary Program?

The Islamic Relief organization is now offering the opportunity for students to take their education a step further.

This bursary is open to undergraduate students. Bursars will be required to join the Graduates Association after finishing their studies.

In addition, students would be required to attend seminars and participate in events and community outreach programs provided by Islamic Relief.

If necessary, they would be compelled to volunteer in remote areas impacted by natural catastrophes.

Who Can Apply

This Bursary program is open to undergraduate students who are studying in technical fields. Mainly:

  • Accounting
  • Science
  • Economics
  • Built Environment (Architecture, Construction)
  • Engineering
  • Financial Management
  • Information Technology
  • Logistics and Supply Chain Management

However, these students will need to meet the following requirements set by the organization in order to be considered for selection:

  • Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 24.
  • Must have finished Matriculation
  • Must be pursuing or willing to study for an undergraduate degree in one of the subjects of study listed above.
  • Must be enrolled or willing to enroll in one of the approved public colleges.
  • Must require financial support
  • Must not be a recipient of any other bursary or scholarship programs.
  • Must be dedicated to their studies
  • After graduation, you must be willing to serve the community and individuals.

What Does This Bursary Cover?

You will be compensated in the form of an allowance for required textbooks. The money will be transferred straight to the university where you are enrolled.

  • Grade 11 final examination results
  • Proof of university acceptance / letter of conditional acceptance
  • Proof of parental/guardian income (payslips, affidavit, pension statements)
  • In the event that both parents or guardians have died, death certificates must be obtained.
  • Your tuition charge estimate (certified copies)
  • A summary of your academic and personal accomplishments (within 250 words)
  • Your participation in the community (within 250 words)
  • A motivating letter outlining why you are deserving of the bursary grant (within 250 words)
