What Is This Bursary Program?
The Momentum Actuarial Science Bursary supports students who are already pursuing Actuarial Science at a South African university. The goal is to reduce financial stress, offer academic support, and help students stay focused on their professional development.
The bursary is available to students currently studying one of the following qualifications:
- BSc Actuarial Science
- BCom Actuarial Science
- BBus Science Actuarial Science
- BSc Actuarial and Financial Mathematics
The bursary includes:
- Full registration and tuition fees
- Textbook, general, and data allowance
- Accommodation and meal allowance (where applicable)
- Travel allowance (where applicable)
- Mentorship and academic support
- Vacation work and professional networking opportunities
Who Can Apply
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be currently enrolled in one of the above-mentioned qualifications at an accredited South African university
- Have completed their first year of actuarial studies
- Have a minimum GPA of 70%
- Not be receiving any other bursary funding for the academic year in which this bursary is applied for
Before applying, applicants must meet the following minimum entrance criteria (note: failure to meet all requirements may result in your application being rejected):
- Submit a detailed CV with a 1-page motivation letter (combined into one document)
- Submit a certified copy of their matric certificate
- Submit academic transcripts for all years of study
Note: This bursary is not open to Grade 12 learners intending to start university in 2026.
