What Is This Bursary About?

South Africans living in Newcastle can apply for the Bursary this year.

The Municipality of Newcastle seeks to expand possibilities for its inhabitants, particularly underprivileged ones, in order to better their educational standing.

This will improve their skills and knowledge, allowing them to contribute to making a better life for themselves and their community.

Newcastle Municipality will do this by offering financial assistance in the form of bursaries.

This money will assist qualifying students in obtaining higher degrees in any subject of study in which they choose to concentrate.

The bursary is only available to approved South African Higher Education Institutions.

Who Can Apply

This bursary program applies to students involved in any tertiary field.

Interested applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must be a resident of Newcastle
  • Must have matriculated in Newcastle
  • Must be within the age group designated as youth according to the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, Number 108 of 1996
  • Must register to study at any of the government-recognized institutions for any field of study
  • Must be either academics or matriculants who meet the requirements
  • Applicants who excel in their academics will get a preference

What Does This Bursary Cover?

This bursary program will provide financial cover for a candidate’s study-related fees.
