What the scholarship covers
- High school fees.

Eligibility requirements
- Female South African citizen currently in Grade 6.
- Code 6 or above in English Home Language, Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
- Intention to attend Cape Academy.
- Financial need: the form requires gross monthly household income below R20,000.
The programme page allows R20,000 or less, while the form says below R20,000. Families at exactly R20,000 should confirm eligibility with Spirit before applying.
Documents required
Prepare certified copies of the learner’s birth certificate or passport, Grade 5 Term 4 and Grade 6 Term 2 or 3 reports, parental identity documents, income evidence, three months of parental bank statements and proof of residence. Follow the form’s instructions for your family circumstances.
The learner must also write an essay of up to 500 words about three real or imaginary dinner guests and the conversation they would have. It must be her own work, without AI or other assistance.

Screening, assessments and interviews form part of selection. Parents must apply separately for school admission; neither application guarantees the other.
