Clientèle is inviting applications for its Royalty Bursary for the 2027 selection year. The bursary supports eligible applicants for first-time, full-time undergraduate study at accredited tertiary institutions in South Africa.

About the sponsor
Clientèle offers this bursary as part of its Royalty programme, aimed at supporting eligible youth to access tertiary education in South Africa.
What it covers
- Study-related costs paid directly to the institution and/or service provider (no cash paid to the recipient).
- The bursary describes a base amount of up to R60,000 per year for fees, books, equipment and accommodation (the bursary committee may approve additional amounts for these items where applicable).
Eligibility checklist
- South African citizen.
- Under the age of 21 as at 30 April 2026.
- Average of 60% (as stated in the application form).
- Eligible for first or second year tertiary studies in the selection year.
- Not already in possession of another bursary (as per the bursary rules).
- Biological or legally adopted child of a Clientèle Royalty client on Tier 3+.
Documents to prepare
- Certified copy of the applicant’s South African ID.
- If you are in Grade 12 in 2026: Grade 11 final year-end results.
- If you have already matriculated: final matric certificate and most recent academic results.
- Completed and signed application form (including all required sections).
- Applicant photo (follow the instructions in the form for scanned submissions).
Closing date
Applications close on 30 April 2026. Late or incomplete applications are not considered.
How selection works
- Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview with a member of the Bursary Committee.
- If not already at university, shortlisted applicants may also be required to complete an online career assessment arranged by the sponsor.
- The form states applicants will be notified by SMS by 30 June 2026.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Submitting after the closing date.
- Leaving out the required certified documents (ID/results) or failing to complete/sign the form.
- Not meeting key eligibility rules (age limit, Royalty Tier requirement, or holding another bursary).
- For scanned applications: forgetting to submit the applicant photo as instructed.
