Applications are open for the Gauteng City Region Academy (GCRA) Bursary Programme 2026. This Gauteng Provincial Government initiative provides full-cost bursary funding (subject to the bursary contract) to eligible students who live in Gauteng and are accepted/registered at an accredited public institution.
What the bursary covers
The GCRA bursary is intended to support the full cost of study (subject to contract conditions). You will be asked to provide your study and cost information during the online application process.
Who can apply?
Applicants generally need to meet the following minimum requirements:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Reside in Gauteng (proof of residence required).
- Be accepted / registered for an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification at an accredited institution.
- Submit a complete online application with all required supporting documents.

Closing date: 28 February 2026.

Applications must be completed online via the official GCRA bursary portal. Register an account, log in, complete the form, and upload the requested supporting documents.
