What the bursary covers

Preferred fields of study
Applicants must be studying one of the following or closely related fields:
- BEng / BSc Mechanical Engineering
- BEng / BSc Electrical Engineering
- BEng / BSc Mining Engineering
- BEng / BSc Environmental Engineering / Environmental Science
- BSc Geology
- Mine Surveying
- Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene (VOHE) or related specialisations
Eligibility criteria
- South African citizen.
- Accepted or registered at a recognised South African university.
- Studying full-time in one of the preferred fields listed above.
- Will be in 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study in 2026 (Honours students considered for some fields).
- Good academic performance in the most recent year of study.
- Demonstrated interest in a career in the mining / resources sector.
