WSP is a multinational engineering and design consulting company that operates in 66 different sectors globally, and 25 different sectors within South Africa.

The industries that WSP consults in are Professional Services, Environmental Consulting, Design, Town Planning, Engineering & Construction Consulting.

WSP prides themselves as they use their global knowledge and expertise to assist and empower local communities by advising them on solutions in the different sectors and industries for today and setting ones for the future.

About WSP

WSP are currently offering two bursaries based in Johannesburg, South Africa – one within Engineering, and the other in Environmental Sciences. Both bursaries are for students in their 2nd, 3rd, or final year of the relevant degree. 

Engineering Bursary: Currently studying a bachelor’s degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical engineering

Environmental Sciences Bursary: Currently studying a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Science (Honours) with a passion for environmental sciences. 

WSP prides itself as it has a great commitment towards its employees, and, in turn, their desire is for their employees to be loyal, diverse, and dedicated to them and their roles. Candidates applying for the bursaries need to be dedicated and enthusiastic in their field of choice.

Who Can Apply?

The two bursaries are offered to students currently studying degrees in engineering and environmental sciences. As highlighted, they must be in either their 2nd, 3rd, or final year of their degree.

Requirements

Engineering Bursary Requirements: 

  • Achieved a minimum average of 65% and passed all subjects for your 2021 academic year to date
  • You cannot be in receipt of another bursary or scholarship
  • Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged individuals, but all South African Citizens are welcome to apply

Environmental Sciences Bursary Requirements:

  • Achieved a minimum average of 70% and passed all subjects for your 2021 academic year to date
  • You cannot be in receipt of another bursary or scholarship
  • Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged individuals, but all South African Citizens are welcome to apply

How to Apply?

Applying for the WSP Africa is done online via the WSP Africa website. The two different WSP Africa Bursaries have two different application forms:

  • Here you are required to sign up and continue with the process.

Please ensure that you have the following documents to submit:

  • Completed online application form.
  • Certified copy of your ID.
  • Certified copies of your latest tertiary academic transcript/progress report.
  • Certified proof of university registration.
  • Certified copy of your matric results.
  • Copy of your CV (with full contact details).
  • A signed letter of declaration stating you do not have any other bursary or scholarships for 2021.
