AFROX Bursary 2020-2021

The AFROX Bursary is for 2nd-year students who are currently studying towards Mechanical, Industrial, Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering. If you have shown excellent of your Academic skills in your first year, you might be exactly what AFROX is looking for.

The vision of AFROX is to become a leading Gases and welding company. They provide engineering services that are focused on Gases, LPG, and safety products. AFROX is part of The Linde Group and operates in 9 other African countries besides South Africa.

Who Can Apply for Afrox Bursaries?

If you dream of becoming an engineer, you might be a good fit for AFROX. The company provides bursaries to students who have excelled in their first year of Engineering studies. The company is looking for students who can help AFROX becoming a world class company.

You are welcome to apply if you are a well balanced Engineering geek looking for a bursary for the following fields:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Metallurgical Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

The bursary if for the duration of 1 year and you can try to renew it each year until you completed your study. The bursary covers most expenses like: Residence fees, University fees and textbooks. You will also receive a monthly stipend and an allowance for Vacation work.

Vacation work is required during the holiday months of June/July and December/January. Your Line manager will do an official work appraisal after you vacation work where they will evaluate your contribution to the company. A good appraisal will increase your chances for securing your bursary a second year.

Requirements for the AFROX Bursary

Before you want to apply, make sure you satisfy these requirements.

  • Your mark is at least 60% for the study field you have chosen
  • They will give preference to students from previously disadvantaged groups.

Interviews are held in the beginning of December and the chosen ones will be notified mid-December.
