Fedisa Bursary 2021-2022

The Fedisa Bursary Programme is aimed at providing financial assistance to two full-time students, studying either a  Diploma in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing and Media or a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion.

The Bursary is valued at R50 000 and will help cover the tuition fees of the successful applicants. The Fedisa Bursary Programme is valid at Fedisa campuses in both Sandton, Johannesburg as well as the CBD in Cape Town,  

Fedisa is a Private Tertiary Institution that is registered with the South African Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). Fedisa boasts two campuses, operating in Cape Town’s CBD as well as Sandton, Johannesburg. Students at Fedisa have the option of studying various fashion-centred Degrees and Diplomas.  

Closing Date of the Bursary 

Please note that bursary applications for the Fedisa Bursary Programme will close on the 15 of August 2021. Applications received after the closing date will not be considered for the Fedisa Bursary Programme. 

About the Bursary 

The Fedisa Bursary Programme is aimed at providing financial assistance to two full-time students, studying either a Diploma in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing and Media or a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion. Prospective applicants are required to take part in the Fedisa Bursary Competition. Thereafter, a panel of judges will select two beneficiaries for the Fedisa Bursary Programme. The value of the Fedisa Bursary is valued at R50 000 and will be used to help cover tuition costs.  

Fedisa Bursary Requirements and Eligibility 

Kindly note that prospective applicants need to satisfy all of the requirements of the Fedisa Bursary in order to be considered for the Programme:

  •  Applications are open to South African citizens and permanent residents ONLY.
  • Applicants should be residing in South Africa.
  • Applicants should have obtained their National Senior Certificate (NSC) or should be in their matric year in 2021.
  • Applicants should have achieved/must achieve a Bachelor’s pass or a Diploma pass for the National Senior Certificate (NSC)
  • Applicants should boast a strong academic record. 

Please note that failure to adhere to the requirements of the Fedisa Bursary Programme will result in a rejected application.

Fedisa Bursary Coverage 

The Fedisa Bursary Programme will provide successful applicants with financial assistance to help pay for the costs of the relevant Degree. The Fedisa Bursary will be awarded to 2 successful applicants and is valued at R50 000.  

The financial assistance provided by the Fedisa Bursary Programme will cover the tuition fees for the following qualifications:

●      Diploma in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing and Media. 

●      Bachelor of Arts in Fashion. 

Please note that successful applicants are required to pay for their own:

  • Accommodation
  • Registration Fees
  • Laptops
  • Transport
  • Food
  • Other living expense

How to apply for the Fedisa Bursary Programme 

Kindly note that prospective applicants should apply for the Fedisa Bursary Programme online at Fedisa Future Vision Bursary 2022.

Prospective applicants are required to create a ‘runway look’ for the Fedisa Bursary Competition. This will entail:

  • Applicants submitting original work.
  • Applicants creating/styling their own clothing.
  • Applicants working with a budget of no more than R500

The following supporting documentation/materials should be attached to the applicant’s application form:

  • The applicant should attach a certified copy of their ID certificate.
  • The applicant should provide a certified copy of their latest matric results if they are currently in their final year of matric.
  • The applicant should provide a certified copy of their final matric results if they have completed matric.
  • The applicant should provide a breakdown of costs associated with the Fedisa Bursary Competition.  
  • The applicant should provide ‘three runway style’ photographs for the Fedisa Bursary Competition. 
  • The applicant should provide a 500 word essay describing their creative process for the Fedisa Bursary Competition. 
  • The applicant should provide a 500 word motivational letter indicating why they believe they should be awarded the Fedisa Future Vision Bursary 2022.  
  • The applicant should send through the clothing and accessories that they plan on using for the Fedisa Bursary Competition. 

Failure to adhere to the application requirements will result in the application being disregarded.  

Please note that supporting documentation as well as materials should be sent to a FEDISA campus before the 15th August 2021.

A panel of judges will select the two winners of the Fedisa Bursary Programme. The granting of the Bursary is at the sole discretion of Fedisa.
