Magalies Water is a regional water utility that provides bulk water and sanitation services to industrial customers, municipalities, and mining operations in the North West, Gauteng, and Limpopo provinces.
Magalies Water follows a process to convert raw water from their two catchment areas – the Crocodile and Pienaar rivers – and makes this water available for public consumption.
They buy the raw water from the Department of Water and Sanitation, and, from there, follow their services process to convert the raw water.
As a result, there are many stages and roles that are required to fulfill these duties, so Magalies Water offer numerous bursaries to give young students a chance to learn these and, from there, develop and apply their knowledge to work within the utility.
