This scholarship will close on 15 March 2022.

Please make sure to submit your application along with the requested support documents before this date. If you don’t, you will not be considered for selection and the SASCP will reject your application.

What Is The SASCP Bursary Program?

The SASCP Bursary program was founded to encourage research, training, and technology transfer to young minds who want to earn a qualification and start a career in this sort of field.

The organization was established over 50 years ago in Pretoria. Since then it has been actively contributing to bringing awareness in crop, soil, and environmental management to benefit the country and ensure long-term crop sustainability. 

Who Can Apply

The SASCP Bursary program is open to students (both undergraduate and postgraduate) who are studying in the Crop Production field.

Mainly Agronomy or Crop Science for the 2022 academic year. However, these students will need to meet the following requirements set by the SASCP in order to be considered for selection:

  • Applicants must be South African citizens.
  • Applicants must have completed their Matric year.
  • Applicants must be studying toward a full-time qualification in one of the courses mentioned above.
  • Applicants must be studying at a recognized South African university.
  • Applicants must have achieved a minimum score of 60% for their previous academic year’s average.

How To Apply

Applications for the SASCP Bursary are relatively simple. All you need to do is download and complete the application form here. Then you need to submit the following support documents with it:

  • A certified copy of your ID.
  • A certified copy of your previous year’s academic results.
  • Proof of registration with a recognized South African institution.
  • Undergraduate students need to provide a short statement of 50 words explaining why they are interested in studying crop production.
  • Postgraduate students need to provide a title of research topic and objectives.
  • 2 reference letters that support your application with credible contact details from your references.
