What Is This Bursary Programme?
The Siemens Bursary Scheme provides funding to academically sound and previously disadvantaged students pursuing qualifications in engineering and technology fields. The bursary covers:
- Tuition and registration fees
- Prescribed books and study materials
- Accommodation and meals (where applicable)
- A monthly allowance
- Structured vacation-work opportunities at Siemens South Africa during university breaks
Supported fields of study include:
- BSc/BEng Electrical Engineering (Heavy and Light Current)
- BSc/BEng Electronic Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering Technology
- BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Mechatronics)
Who Can Apply
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Be a South African citizen studying or accepted to study full-time at a locally recognised university
- Achieve a minimum academic average of 65 % in the most recent year of study (Grade 12 or tertiary)
- Meet the registration requirements of the chosen institution
- Provide proof of acceptance from the institution before a bursary is awarded
- Not receive any other funding (e.g. NSFAS or another bursary)
Short-listed candidates will be contacted by a Siemens recruiter or bursary co-ordinator for a virtual interview. Successful students will sign a bursary agreement for the 2026 academic year and are expected to complete vacation work at Siemens during study breaks.
