Tech-Capital Bursary 2022

The Tech-Capital Bursary Programme was established to help provide much-needed assistance to financially needy students who boast strong academic records, and have an interest in the broader IT sector.

The Bursary is aimed at students with disabilities who plan on studying/are studying an Undergraduate Degree in an IT related field. The Bursary can only be utilised at the University of Pretoria in the Gauteng Province of South Africa. 

Tech-Capital is a 100% Black-owned company according to certified BBBEE definitions. The company is based in Centurion and specializes in providing high-quality IT consultancy services for its clients in the broader region.

Recently, Tech-Capital has diversified its services expanding into road logistics services, Bursary administration, and MS Office training programmes. 

First established in 2018, Tech-Capital has enjoyed a period of rapid expansion, which has allowed the company to engage in community outreach schemes, indicated via the provision and administration of the Tech-Capital Bursary program. Tech-Capital prides itself in providing quality services to its clients, establishing a loyal client base in the Gauteng Province. 

Closing Date of the Bursary 

Please note that Bursary applications for the Bet Software Bursary Programme will close on the 3 of December  2021. Applications received after the closing date will not be considered for the Bursary Programme.

Applicants who have not received a response a month after submitting their online application should consider their application as unsuccessful.

About the Bursary 

The Tech-Capital Bursary Programme will provide financial assistance that will pay for the registration costs of the successful applicant(s).

The programme is open to Black students (Black African, Indian, Coloured) in an attempt to address Apartheid error socioeconomic inequalities. The Bursary was established to provide an avenue of meaningful upward mobility to students who lack the means to pay for their own education.

Requirements and Eligibility 

Prospective applicants need to satisfy all of the requirements of the Tech-Capital Bursary in order to be considered for the Programme:

  • Applications are open to those studying an Undergraduate Degree in an IT related field.
  • Applications are open to those studying at the University of Pretoria ONLY.
  • Applications are open to South African citizens ONLY.
  • Applications are open to designated Black South Africans ONLY.
  • Applications are open to those with a disability ONLY.
  • Applications are open to those who achieved an average of at least 65% for their matric results. 

Please note that failure to comply with the Tech-Capital Bursary requirements will result in a rejected application. 

Bursary Coverage 

The Tech-Capital Bursary Programme will provide successful applicants with financial assistance which will help pay for the costs of the relevant Degree.

The Bursary will cover the costs of the:

  • Full tuition fees of the successful applicant. 
  • Full registration fees of the successful applicant.

Please note that successful applicants are expected to pay for other study related costs such as accommodation and travel out of their own pocket. Students are provided with the option of including the Tech-Capital Bursary Programme with other financial aid services such as NSFAS. 

How to Apply for the Tech-Capital Bursary?

Kindly note that students applying for the Tech-Capital Bursary Programme are required to submit an online application via the following link

The following supporting information must be attached to the applicant’s application form:

  • A certified copy of the applicant’s ID card / Book 
  • A copy of the applicant’s matric results. 
  • A certified copy of the applicant’s complete academic history. 
  • A certified medical document of the applicant’s proof of disability. 
  • A copy of the applicant’s proof of registration.
  • A copy of the Degree fee statement. 

Failure to adhere to the above-mentioned requirements will result in a rejected application.
