The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission(KZNFC) is now accepting applications for its bursary program.
This is an excellent opportunity for ideal candidates since the bursary will cover a lot of primary expenses so there will be frustration of a financial burden on you.

The KZNFC Bursary application period will end on 15 October 2022.

Your application won’t be taken into account by the bursary provider if you don’t do this.
What Is This Bursary About?
The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission (KZNFC) was set up to aid in the growth of the province’s film industry’s skills. According to the provincial Act, which was passed in 2010, the organization was established.
The KZNFC’s mission is to promote KwaZulu-Natal as a major film destination with a varied, sustainable, and competitive industry.
The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), Tourism KZN, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal, Dube Tradeport, and Three Cities are some of the organization’s partners.
The KZNFC bursary program was started in 2014 to help KwaZulu-film Natal’s industry deal with a skills gap.
Students are encouraged to apply for the KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission’s (KZNFC) scholarship program for the 2023 academic year.
Who Can Apply
The following fields of study will be eligible for bursaries:
- Film and Television Production (at Undergraduate level)
- Animation-related studies (at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels)
Before applying, candidates must meet the minimum entry requirements listed below (please note that if you do not meet all of the requirements, your application will not be considered):
- You must be a resident of South Africa.
- You must reside in the province of KwaZulu-Natal.
- You must have successfully finished or be enrolled in Matric.
- You must be pursuing or plan to pursue a TV/Film Production and Animation degree (minimum NQF level 6)
- You must be enrolled in or studying at a public tertiary institution in KwaZulu-Natal that is recognized and approved.
- The kids who live with disabilities and those who were formerly underprivileged will receive preference.
What Does This Bursary Cover?
The following costs will be covered by the bursary: full tuition fees, a prescribed book allowance, a monthly allowance, and housing (for students who reside 50km or more from their institution).
Only those who make the shortlist will hear from the commission. If you don’t hear anything by February 28th, 2023, consider your application unsuccessful.

Along with your completed bursary application form, send clear copies of the following supporting documents (submitting these documents is required; if any are missing, your application may be rejected):
- ID (certified copy)
- Results of the June 2022 Matric exams, if you are enrolled (certified copy)
- Certificate of completion for Matric (certified copy)
- If you are presently enrolled, a complete academic record and transcripts (certified copy)
- evidence of enrollment or acceptance at a KwaZulu-Natal university (on institution’s letterhead)
- guardians or parents Proof of household income (latest paystubs or a letter of employment, if you’re employed; a pension slip, if you’re on a pension; an affidavit, if you’re unemployed; etc.)
- Evidence of disability, if applicable (letter from a doctor)
